I’m sure you’ve seen those gurus and talking heads that say the reason you’re poor is just because you just don’t ‘hustle’ enough or the reason you’re obese is because you ‘just don’t want to put down the fork’.
There’s only so much willpower a person has
and if there’s sabotaging mental and physical habits that drain precious, limited willpower quickly like an obese person may have, it’s going to take way more than just some effort to make a drastic longterm change.
Yes, to accomplish a major goal you’re going to have to put in work... I’m not denying that... but, if you have to have to consistently burn precious willpower to do it you’re going to run out of steam in a few hours and revert back to dangerous habits.
That’s why I’ve taken willpower and motivation out of the equation by...
‘MICROBREAKING’ HARD TASKS DOWN TO ACCOMPLISH THEM FASTER.
If I wrote an important, yet willpower draining task that needed done down, I would procrastinate and just not do it.
Maybe you’ve done the same... and just sat staring at one important, but hard to do thing on your to-do list?
However, if I broke it into ‘microchunks’ or easy to get started with baby steps that require little willpower to do, I would start that task due to the little willpower needed and finish it far faster since I now had momentum and was working on it
which you’ll see how to automate.>
